Spring, St. Patrick's Day and Easter in March

We had such a busy few weeks in March!

We were learning about spring and then it snowed! That was confusing!

We went on a spring walk.

We visited the secret garden to see how well our garlic was growing.

We drew the signs of spring in our copy - we drew buds on trees, flowers growing and some birds and animals.

We used the "pointillism" technique to make spring pictures and we also painted cherry blossoms.

We made chicks for Spring using clay and paint.

We celebrated the centenary of the Easter Rising. This means the Easter Rising took place 100 years ago.

We drew the Ireland flag in our copies. We got a new Ireland flag that we will raise every day we are in school from now on.

We wrote "The easter egg is big." in our copies. Our writing is definitely improving!

Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day was on Sunday the 6th of March this year.

We made daffodil pictures for our lovely mammies.

We also went on a walk to the garden centre to make a basket of flowers for them.

They were so happy.

We love our mammies so much!

Wonderful Writing - i, l, t

When we write we sit properly in our chairs with our two feet flat on the ground. We hold the crayon in our writing hand and we hold our other hand flat on the copy so it does not move when we are writing.

We learned to write the letter i.

You start in the middle, go straight down to the line with a kick and do a tiny dot on top.

We learned to write the letter l.

You start at the top, go straight down, down, down to the line with a kick.
